Vermont State University (Vermont State, VTSU) is built upon the best of Castleton University, Northern Vermont University- Johnson & Lyndon, and Vermont Technical College. Vermont State is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education.

Vermont State serves over 3500 students across our primary campuses at Castleton, Johnson, Lyndon, Randolph, and Williston, as well as multiple additional learning sites across the state of Vermont and beyond.

First-year

First year students are welcomed into our communities with a helpful network designed to support your success. You will engage in first year programming that creates personal connection with many resources here to guide and help you. You will have both a student success advisor and a faculty academic advisor to offer guidance and serve as mentors. You will also benefit from our surroundings, the natural beauty, recreational opportunities, and safety of Vermont.
