Additional Information

FINANCIAL AID

WashU will not let cost be a barrier to your education, and through the Gateway to Success we are now need blind. This means students will be considered for admission based on their abilities, not their ability to pay. We are committed to meeting 100% of demonstrated need so you can be 100% focused on chasing your dreams and realizing your ambitions. WashU supports several initiatives that provide students the resources they need to engage fully in academic and campus life including:

  • Awards that range up to the full cost of tuition & fees, including no-loan packages for families who earn less than $75,000
  • Merit-based academic scholarships and need-based scholarships
  • Financial Aid Counselors who work individually with each family to understand any unique circumstances
  • Start-up grants to help first-year students from low income backgrounds buy college necessities outside of tuition costs, such as textbooks, winter clothes, and a computer.

ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS
Each student who completes an application for admission will be considered for the academic scholarship in the division indicated on their application.

SIGNATURE SCHOLAR PROGRAMS
WashU’s three Signature Scholar Programs—Danforth Scholars, Annika Rodriguez Scholars, and John B. Ervin Scholars—are housed within the Office of Scholar Programs (OSP), and bring together members from across campus to create unique academic and cultural communities.

Visit us

Nestled in the heart of St. Louis, WashU’s 169 acres are comprised of top-of-the-line buildings, laboratories, classroom libraries—all of which foster a sense of community, creativity, and collaboration.

Our campus is open for prospective students and their families to visit. WashU Walk-Through is a 3-hour, self-guided tour of campus using our WashU Visits app. As part of the experience, you can access our Danforth University Center (DUC), visit the campus bookstore, and see a ResLife display room specifically created to the specifications of a "modern double" room.

Additionally, we continue to host a variety of virtual experiences that are designed to help you connect with our campus and community all from the comfort of your own home. Attend an information session, take a virtual tour, speak with an admissions representative, meet current students, learn about our academic divisions, and begin to determine if WashU is the right fit for you.

Call 800.638.0700 or go to visit.wustl.edu to schedule an in-person or virtual visit!

WashU students foster a collaborative, rather than competitive, environment. It’s a place where my peers don’t just make me a better student but a better person.
