Additional Information

FINANCIAL AID
WashU will not let cost be a barrier to your education. Through the Gateway to Success initiative, we have a need-blind admissions policy for all first-year applicants who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents. This means we won't factor your ability to pay in the admission decision process. We are committed to meeting 100% of demonstrated financial need for all admitted students so you can be 100% focused on realizing your ambitions. WashU supports several initiatives that provide students with resources needed to engage fully in academic and campus life including:
  • Awards that range up to the full cost of attendance, including no-loan packages for families who earn less than $75,000
  • Merit-based academic scholarships and need-based scholarships
  • Financial assistance counselors who work individually with families to understand unique circumstances
  • Start-up grants to help first-year students from low income backgrounds buy college necessities outside of tuition, such as textbooks, winter clothes, and a computer.

SIGNATURE SCHOLAR PROGRAMS
WashU’s three Signature Scholar Programs—Danforth, Rodriguez, Ervin Scholars—are housed within the Office of Scholar Programs (OSP), and bring together students from across campus to create unique academic and cultural communities.

Visit us

Nestled in the heart of St. Louis, WashU’s 169 acres are comprised of top-of-the-line buildings, laboratories, classroom libraries—all of which foster a sense of community, creativity, and collaboration.

Our campus is open for prospective students and their families to visit, providing an opportunity to explore our beautiful campus and connect with our community. Campus visits include an information session and a campus tour. Our information session provides an overview of WashU, our programs as well as the admission and financial aid process.

Additionally, we host a variety of virtual experiences designed to help you connect with our campus and community all from the comfort of your own home. Attend an information session, take a virtual tour, speak with an admissions representative, meet current students, learn about our academic divisions, and begin to determine if WashU is the right fit for you.

I fell in love with WashU primarily because of the people and the sense of support and inclusion that's palpable on campus.
