Application information
Find out about requirements, fees, and deadlines
WPI’s applicants are high achievers and enthusiastic about math and science, but admission isn’t based only on academics. We care about the whole student and like to see diverse interests and activities that reveal curiosity and passion. Students coming from high school or a gap year are considered first-year applicants and admission begins in the fall. Visit www.wpi.edu/+apply to learn more about application rounds and deadlines.
Students currently attending a two- or four-year accredited institution may apply to WPI as transfer students for fall and spring enrollment. Transcripts should demonstrate a strong background in math, science, and computer or engineering coursework. WPI looks for students who show diverse interests in areas beyond STEM, including the arts and humanities. The free WPI Transfer Application is available at www.wpi.edu/+transfer for both spring and fall consideration. More information about requirements and deadlines are available at this site as well. As with first-year applications, the SAT and ACT are not part of our application.

Additional Information
WPI is known as a global leader in project-based learning. As part of WPI’s academic approach, students learn in the classroom and apply that knowledge to real projects large and small. Beginning in the first year, projects are a big part of WPI’s student-centered curriculum. In the four seven-week terms of each academic year, students complete intensive work in many disciplines.>
