First-year applicants are those who will complete high school by the end of the current academic year. Students enrolled in concurrent high school and college courses are considered first-year candidates. Students who have elected to take time off from schooling between graduating from high school and enrolling in college are considered first-year candidates. Rice accepts first-year applications for early and regular decision. The early decision deadline is November 1; the regular decision deadline is January 4. Transfer applicants have completed a high school diploma (or an equivalent) and earned at least 12 semester hours of college credit after graduating high school. Rice accepts transfer applications for spring and fall matriculation. Applications for spring are due November 1; applications for fall are due March 15.
