Find out about requirements, fees, and deadlines

First-year

To be considered for admission, scholarships and on-campus accommodation, please select your program of study and check English Proficiency and Country-Specific requirements on our website. Determine if your program is offered at the U of G (main campus), the University of Guelph-Humber, or if it is an Associate Diploma offered at the Ridgetown campus. You'll then need to fill in and submit the appropriate Application Form along with your fee. Submit your transcripts and other required documentation, along with your English Proficiency test scores.

Transfer

If you are an international applicant who has previously attended college or university, please consult our International Transfer Student Admission Requirements on our website. Applications for September admission will be considered as they are received. Application dates vary by program. Transfer students interested in January admission should also consult Admission Services for program availability.

University of Guelph Entrance Awards

International Scholarships (Merit-Based Visa Students)
  • $17,500 - $20,500 over 4 years
  • Awarded on a competitive bases to new students entering their first semester in the Fall. Students admitted in Fall 2020 and Fall 2021 and receiving an entrance scholarship ($5,500 - $8,500) are eligible to receive a $4,000 award in years 2, 3, and 4 if all renewal criteria are met each year.
As an international student at U of G, you can work part-time on or off-campus. More than 4,000 on-campus jobs are available on a competitive basis. 

Our Work Study program creates part-time employment on campus for hundreds of students who have financial need. International students may apply for Work Study funding in their 2nd year of university. In order to qualify, you must demonstrate financial need. 

In addition, more than 3,000 students are in co-operative education at the U of G - that's one of the highest student enrolments in co-op programs among Ontario universities!
