First-year

A first year student is a student who is still enrolled in high school or secondary school. While a first year may have college credits, they still have yet to earn their high school diploma.

Additional Information

UMR does not have out of state tuition so all students will pay the in-state Minnesota rate. In addition, students are eligible for scholarships. The passion statement on the application is the scholarship question. Students will be reviewed by an academic scholarship committee that will invite the top candidates on campus to interview. The deadline for scholarship consideration is December 1st. Scholarships range from 1 year to 4 years and from $1,000 - $10,000 annually.

Visit us

UMR offers individual visits where students and guests will meet with an admissions rep for a one-on-one overview of the university followed by a  personal tour lead by a UMR student ambassador. The visit is approximately 2 hours long. We also host open houses called Discover Days throughout the year and in the Spring, we will host VIP Days for Admitted students.
