Find out about requirements, fees, and deadlines
Step 1:
Complete the Common Application or the SUNY Application.
Step 2:
Send a copy of your official transcript (high school and/or college) to the Office of Admissions (electronic or paper transcripts are accepted).
Step 3:
Have your high school counselor complete the secondary school report.
Step 4:
Submit at least one letter of recommendation from a school counselor or teacher.
 
Application Deadlines
- Early Action: November 15 for fall admission (N/A for spring)
 - First-Year: Preferred March 1 for fall admission, Dec. 1 for spring
 
Application Decisions Rendered
- Early Action: December 15 for fall admission (N/A for spring)
 - First-Year students: Early March for fall admission, and then rolling.
 
As a transfer applicant, you will be considered for admission to SUNY Geneseo based on several criteria, which include:
- Rigor of college coursework completed
 - Appropriateness of the courses in relation to intended major
 - Grade point average in courses related to your intended major
 - Cumulative grade point average
 - Academic Trend–an upward GPA trajectory on a semester-by-semester basis.
 
Admission as a transfer student is competitive. A minimum GPA of 2.50 is required for consideration.
