First-year

Our undergraduate liberal arts college, nestled in the foothills of the Ozarks, was founded in 1872 and is one of the more historic colleges in Arkansas. We challenge our students to grow in a multi-faceted approach with a strong commitment to liberal arts education in order to mature into well-rounded, open-minded individuals. First time students are students that have not attended a college full time.

Transfer

Lyon College will transfer all courses from accredited two-year and four-year institutions of higher learning, provided the courses are in areas of instruction offered by Lyon and the grade earned was "C" or better. normally, Lyon College will not accept correspondence course work. Transferred grades will appear on the student's transcript, but will not be figured into the Lyon College GPA.

Additional Information

Lyon College offers a number of scholarships worth many thousands of dollars for qualified students. These scholarships and grants can come from one or more of three sources: Lyon College, the federal government, and the state government.
