Additional Information

Providence College offers 50 majors and 44 minors across four schools: Arts and Sciences, Business, Nursing and Health Sciences, and Education and Social Work. With a 11:1 student-faculty ratio, professors are attuned to students’ interests and invested in their success. With this level of mentorship and support, it’s no wonder 91% of students return to Providence College for their sophomore year.

Education in action defines the experience of our students across disciplines. More than 93% of graduates complete at least one internship or career-building experience and more than a third of all students participate in one-on-one research with faculty. Deep practical knowledge paired with a liberal arts foundation makes Providence College students highly sought after in the professional marketplace and in graduate programs. Dedicated faculty and staff are deeply invested in student success after graduation, and a vast network of more than 58,000 alumni are eager to connect graduates with opportunities. This adds up: 96% of 2022 graduates were employed, attending graduate school, or volunteering full-time within six months of graduation and they have a mean starting salary of $58,009.

Co-curricular activities abound at Providence College. They include more than 120 student clubs and organizations, exciting NCAA Division I athletics in the BIG EAST and Hockey East Conference, and one of the nation’s top intramural sports programs.

In keeping with its founding commitment to educational access, Providence College offers need-based and merit-based aid to qualifying students. All first-year students are considered for merit-based scholarships, while need-based financial aid requires the FAFSA and CSS Profile applications.

“The best question to ask is not ‘What can I do with a liberal arts education?’ but rather, ‘What sort of person will a liberal arts education help me become?’ … Our greatest desire is that the classroom be a dynamic laboratory for the cultivation of learning, the nurturing of growth, and the shaping of character of each student.”
