First-year

St. John's University offers a no-fee admission application to first-year students seeking admission for spring (January start) and fall (September start) terms. Spring term applicants apply via Rolling Decision and fall term applicants can select from Early Decision, Early Action, and Rolling Decision. All applicants are required to submit an undergraduate admission application, official high school transcript, and standardized test scores (unless applying test optional). Some applicants and programs may require additional information as part of the admission application.

Transfer

St. John's University offers a no-fee admission application to new transfer students seeking admission for spring (January start) and fall (September start) terms. Applications are reviewed on a Rolling Decision for all terms and students can expect to receive an admission decision within a few weeks of submitting the admission application and submitting all required documents. Required documentation includes transcripts from all colleges and universities attended after graduating from high school. Some applicants and programs may require additional information as part of the admission application.

Additional Information

In 2019-2020, 99% of undergraduate students received $417 million in financial aid.

Upon acceptance, all students are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships. Recipients of merit awards will see this information included in the acceptance letter.

First-year students applying for fall term admission have the option to apply for additional scholarships ranging up to $10,000 per year. The deadline to apply for these additional scholarships is January 15 and a separate application specific for each scholarship is required.

In addition, all students are encourage to file the FAFSA to be considered for federal, state, and institutional need-based financial aid.

The Office of Admission offers in-person tours Monday through Friday and most Saturdays throughout the academic year. A typical tour includes a student-led tour of campus and an information session with an Admission Counselor. Virtual visit experiences, including virtual tours, virtual information sessions, and individual virtual appointments with an Admission Counselor are also available.
