First-year

First-year applicants are those who will have earned a high school diploma or its equivalent by they time they plan to enroll at UMass Boston. Students are encouraged to apply by the non-binding Early Action deadline of November 1st for priority scholarship and housing opportunity. The Regular Decision application deadline is March 1st.

Transfer

UMass Boston is a transfer-friendly university, enrolling more than 2,000 transfer students annually. Any student who has earned post-secondary college credits should apply as a transfer applicant.

Additional Information

As Boston's only public research university, UMass Boston is committed to providing its students with an exceptional and affordable education. Financial Aid Services and the Merit Scholarship Office process over $160 million in financial assistance a year. Generous merit scholarships and need-based financial aid packages are available to qualified students. Students interested in need-based financial aid should submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 1st to maximize their eligibility. Students should complete their admissions application by our early action deadline, November 1, for priority consideration for merit scholarships.
