First-year

Students applying to UMKC may submit one of the following applications: UMKC General Application for Admission or the Common Application. Please only submit one of these applications.

Students applying to the Conservatory are encouraged to submit the UMKC General Application for Admission.

Your application is not considered complete until the following information is submitted: 

  • A $45 non-refundable application fee will be collected at the time of application. 
  • Official high school transcript/s. Transcripts are considered official if they are received in a sealed envelope or sent electronically to the Office of Admissions through either Parchment, National Student Clearing House, SCOIR or eScrip-Safe.
  • Official test scores. Test scores are not required for Test-optional admission. Test scores are required for scholarship consideration. The ACT code for UMKC is 2380. The SAT code for UMKC is 6872.

Students applying to UMKC must meet admission requirements, and submitting the application does not guarantee admission to the university or to a specific academic program.
